One on One Photography Tuition or Mentoring.

My hourly rate is $149/hr + GST at my home office/ studio, or at your location within Christchurch, and minimum of 2 hours per booking. For regular on-going mentoring we can revise (lower) accordingly. Travel and accommodation is additional if outside of Christchurch City. Call me for more details.

Tuition and learning is tailored for beginners through to advanced photographers who want to understand the principals of film or digital photography/ & or art based project development. Before we meet we’ll have a chat about what you are wanting to learn, any expectations, and get to know each other a little before we book our session.

Topics & process that I can help you with include portraiture, contemporary landscapes, visual based projects for exhibition, & art book development and printing. Subjects such as correct light metering, composition, finding purpose within imagery, & building a series are popular topics that I teach. If you want to learn about black and white film developing, I also offer that tuition too. (Colour coming soon).

Our time together is all about a level and pace specific to YOU, & I’ll work with your goals in mind. You can ask me anything during our private tuition. I can help ignite your creative flame, teach you to trust your instincts, & nurture your passion to capture this unique world & its events on film. I’ll bring my own life & academic experiences, with artist vision to each session to answer your questions. I’ll share skills that have taken me decades to develop and trust.

My portfolio/ experiences alongside my art based projects, includes commercial work for more than a decade, Auckland based tutoring from 2013 – 2017, as well as a Degree in photography from ARA Institute with an award for academic excellence.
