Yesterday while shooting at 1/4 and f3.5 it was apparent that I need to start having the capacity to capture portraits more reliably indoors for this series. I was asking Larry to keep still as if it was the 1900’s to avoid any blur due to such a long shutter speed. I’m looking into carrying the third TLR with the option to shoot colour or black and white (HP5 or Portra) rated at ISO 1600 and push during development. I’ll run a few experiments at home first and see what happens. The other option is to buy some Portra 800 and push to ISO 1600 (+1 vs +2) that might avoid common issues pushing Portra such as in creased contrast, colour shifts and increased grain. I LOVE these indoor portraits, but there was an element of luck yesterday with most exhibition some motion blur, which I don’t want to test again!
